Life doesn’t come with a roadmap and our mind doesn't come with an owner's manual. Your journey may be about finding relief from painful emotions like anxiety, anger, or depression. Or perhaps it's about finding purpose, improving relationships, or pursuing a more contented life that aligns with your innermost values. Whatever's on your mind, remember this: embracing change is a sign of strength. Together, we’ll embark on a journey toward the life you aspire to live. My greatest privilege is to travel that road with you.
Feeling nervous about starting therapy is natural, especially if it's a new experience for you. Countless scientific studies have proven that psychotherapy helps people live happier, healthier lives. Yet at its core it's a deeply human endeavor we'll undertake together, focused on growth, healing, and understanding. I aim to offer you a comfortable, non-judgmental space where your feelings and concerns take center stage. And hopefully we can share a few laughs along the way.
They call it the 'practice' of psychology for a reason. In my 25 years as a clinical psychologist, I've seen, learned, and evolved. Holding a Ph.D. from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, I've worked in a variety of therapeutic settings, including private practice, college counseling centers, medical and psychiatric hospitals, and federal prisons. I have also taught Masters-level courses in psychology, supervised doctoral interns, and presented training at the American Psychological Association Convention. I'm eager to use this experience to help you navigate your unique challenges.
